Nik Farr has been writing, performing, and recording music in bands and as a solo artist since 1997. With no formal musical training, Farr is entirely self-taught and his creative process is informed instead by his background in visual art as well as by the condition of synaesthesia (he associates sound with shapes and colors). "I approach songwriting and production more like a painter," Nik says, "making conscious choices about texture and composition--placing sounds or words into a mix to achieve a deliberate effect." Consequently, he brings a unique touch to any project in which he participates.
